More important, this is one great sounding little guitar! I believe when these were originally produced, they had nylon strings. I just installed a new set of strings only to check the string height which is great. Speaking of, the neck is perfectly straight which is somewhat Rare in itself for these antique guitars. It is nothing special but seems to work well with this instrument and perfectly secured and lined up with the neck. Some 30 or so years ago a modern tailpiece/bridge with pins was installed. I have owned perhaps 2 to 3 thousand guitars in my lifetime and must admit this is one sweet little vintage instrument! You will note the metal tailpiece is no longer attached to the guitar even though the silhouette of where is once was attached can be seen. More than likely he purchased it new around 1910 to 1915! The guitar has been in a closet for the better part of 40 years. SEE PICTIRES! I am selling this guitar for a good friend and it belonged to her grandfather. Ladies and Gentlemen, for yourconsideration is this Nice Early 1900's RARE Lyon & HealyMarquette Parlor guitar with Original Hard Shell Case.
